Walnut Farmhouse has been carefully refurbished to give guests all the comforts of modern living whilst retaining the traditional character of a Norfolk farmhouse.
Situated on a 100 acre arable farm, the 5 bedroom property sleeps 9 comfortably (plus a sofa bed if you would like to bring along extra friends or family) and has a family bathroom and 2 shower rooms, 3 large living areas, a dining room and a stylish kitchen. The property really lends itself to large gatherings of family or friends or both but smaller groups are just as welcome. Walnut Farm House is light and cool in the summer and cosy and warm in winter with central heating in every room.
The house stands within the farm’s small touring caravan site. The landscaped garden, which is fenced and gated, is dog proof. Dogs are invited to take their owners for a stroll through open farmland and along a river bank on the 1.5 mile ‘doggy walk’ which circles the farm boundary. Waxham and Horsey beaches are a very short drive away – ideal places to see the famous seal colonies and their babies in the winter. Horsey Windpump and Waxham Barn are worth a visit too.
When you get here: Turn into Walnut Farm Caravan Park and drive down the concrete driveway. You will see the house at the bottom of the driveway.
Drive through the double gates and park on the gravel drive in front of the house. Keys to the house are available as arranged.
Kitchen: The large kitchen is extremely well equipped with breakfast bar, hob, double oven, dishwasher, double door fridge freezer, microwave and toaster.
There is plenty of storage space for both human and canine food supplies.
Dining Room: A spacious, light room with windows on two sides and a large dining table that seats 9 people comfortably.
Living Room: A relaxing room with two leather settees, television and DVD player with Freeview and an electric log burner. The room looks out onto the garden and the double doors open into the sun room.
Sun Room: A very comfortable airy room facing south west that catches the sun most of the day. There are two leather settees to relax in and
double doors leading out to the garden.
Quiet Room: A spacious, comfortable room with two settees (one of which is a sofa bed) and a writing desk. This room is the ideal spot for adults to catch up on reading or snoozing while younger members of the family are watching television, playing DVDs or using the internet.
Shower Room: Downstairs shower room with large shower, toilet and wash basin.
Utility Room: With washing machine and tumble dryer and doors opening onto the courtyard. Plenty of room for dog beds and crates.
First Floor (We ask guests to kindly keep dogs on the ground floor by closing the gate at the bottom of the stairs).
Master Bedroom: Windows on two of the four walls give great views over the open farm land. This comfortable room has a double bed, an en-suite shower room with toilet and wash basin, wardrobes, and a dressing table.
Family Bathroom: With large bath and hand shower, toilet and wash basin.
Bebroom 2: With a King size double bed, built in wardrobes and views over the farm.
Bedroom 3: With two single beds and built in wardrobes.
Bedroom 4: With two single beds and a dresser cabinet with drawers.
Bedroom 5: With a single bed.
Outside: There is a large garden with shrubs and trees which is enclosed with wall, railings, fence, hedges and gates, all well maintained to be as secure as can be for dogs. At the back of the house is a courtyard; an ideal spot for washing and drying dogs. A small shed contains a barbecue, logs and kindling for the log burner and there are two benches in the garden to either eat al-fresco or relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Arrival time 4pm – Departure time 10am.
We ask guests not to smoke in Walnut Farmhouse. Thank you.
All the main supermarkets deliver to Walnut Farmhouse, so if you want to arrange deliveries, please ensure you will be there to take receipt.
If you would rather have local food, the Truly Local shop in Stalham, which counts Prince Charles among its customers, can put together a box of groceries for collection.
You can fish on the Waxham New Cut with the appropriate licence. The New Cut bank is part of the farm’s circular ‘doggy walk.’
If you would like a delivery of dog food to the house while you are here, rather than bringing it with you, this local company will deliver for free

Blickling Hall near Aylsham, also has nice pub and gardens (NT) 4. Horsey Windpump for ice crean and tea cakes! 5. Our kids loved the fairground rides at Joyland in Great Yarmouth 6. Pleasure Boat Inn at Hickling, right on the edge of the broad, so some good walks 7. Bure Valley Railway, Wroxham to Aylsham, £12 adult.

Loved Walnut Farm. Everything we could want here. Didn't have to search for anything. Lovely to be able to dry my clothes after an argument with the incoming tide! Sea Palling and Winterton beaches always favourites, but discovered Horsey Gap after six years and it's perfect for our dogs to run as only greyhounds and lurchers can.

We've had a great week staying at Walnut Farm. Milo has loved the 'dog walk' and the garden, such a dog friendly area for his first holiday. The house is spacious and has been ideal for our family holiday. Especially loved the evenings playing the board games. Recommend for a rainy day - RAF Radar Museum, for a sunny day - hiring a boat at Hickling then lunch at the Pleasure Boat Inn.
Hickling and Woods families with Milo - May 2014
Great house and surroundings - have had a lovely relaxing time and the weather has been amazing! Fabulous dog walks at Sea Palling beach and would recommend the Dune Cafe at Winterton-on-sea - delicious cakes and coffe! The Pleasure Boat at Hickling is great for lunch and dog friendly with an enclosed garden - beautiful location. Thank you for the goodies when we arrived! xx
Sarah and Buddy, Anne and Barley - May 2014
Great week and helped by the weather! Sea Palling beach great and Horsey great for the seals. Hemsby beach has lots of glass on it so be careful! Lighthouse at Walcott great for steak and ale pie (huge!). Many thanks for the great accommodation.
Dog walk really appreciated. Excellent house and we have had good day trips - Hickling - go to the west side to walk with a dog on the footpath. No dogs allowed in the Nature Reserve and a £4.50 per person charge (at the visitor centre on the east side). Morston to Blakeney walk very good and Wells-next the Sea beach superb. National Trust Gardens at Sheringham good and dog friendly and good walks to the coast.
Walnut Farm has everything one would wish for a relaxing and comfortable holiday. Thank you.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Walnut Farm. Thanks to the McLeods young and old for their hospitality. Our young ones have disappeared for long periods of time playing, leaving the older ones to enjoy the peace of the house. There are lots of great things to do locally, from the old - Horsey Windpump, to the modern - Bewilderwood, as well as the beaches. We're hoping to return next summer to this beautifully presented, spacious and well-equipped house.
