The Garden Room is a very tasteful, single storey, studio style conversion in the beautiful garden of The Old Rectory, Ridlington, the Grade II listed family home of Fiona and Peter Black.  There are 4 acres of garden and woodland surrounding the Garden Room and beyond that, conservation farmland, quiet lanes with acres of common and heathland very close by. Fiona is a keen and knowledgeable gardener and her Garden is included in National Garden Scheme Gardens Open For Charity.

When you get here:  You drive up the gravel drive, past the tennis court and park right outside the back door of the Garden Room.  The solid wood door (with keycode pad - no worries about losing keys!) leads straight into the ....

Studio Sitting/Sleeping area: Large airy beamed space with windows and French doors providing views and access onto the beautiful garden and, beyond that, out onto open countryside.  At this end there is the wood burning stove, low table, futon sofa bed and TV with Freeview, dvd player, a selection of dvds, games and books and information about the area (on the antique pine dresser).

In the middle of the room is the pine dining table and at the far end the large and comfortable king size bed which can also be two singles.  Plenty of drawer and hanging space.  There is screening for the bed should you need it.

Just off the main room are the ..

Kitchen: Very well equipped, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, electric cooker and country style cubpoards and drawers.  Large window view onto garden.

And...

Bathroom: Bath and power shower. Very nicely appointed and well fitted.

Outside: Croquet lawn on the grass in front of the main house and an all weather tennis court (available by arrangement - no charge), ample parking. Seating on patio area in the Old Rectory garden just outside the French doors.

Please note: Fiona and Peter ask that dogs are kept on a lead in the garden and not allowed onto the grass in front of the main house.  The lawn is very careully maintained, particularly for the Open Gardens day. You are welcome to walk them along the drive and on the grass by the tennis court and the paddock beside it. There are some lovely walks starting at the end of the drive.

Heating:  Wood burning stove - no charge for logs.  Log store just across drive way.   Storage radiators for heating and double glazing throughout.

What we provide:
All bed linen and towels.
Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and whatever other lovely goodies Fiona provides - her home made bread gets several mentions in the guestbook!
