    Patikipa, Potter Heigham

Fancy a bolthole, a riverside retreat?  Where everything is basic but comfortable?  Where you can wander to the waters edge in bare feet with your first cup of the day to watch mother duck and her ducklings, an early sailor, a heron flying over the marshes, fish jumping...

"PERFECT!!!  It is impossible not to fall in love with the Broads and the beaches of Norfolk.  Perfect location with lovely owners.  Will be back for a third time!  xx"  Sarah, Lee and Mack the dog

"Thank you so much for a lovely few days stay here I was very comfortable and it was very homely! Lovely views, just what the doctor ordered for a few days peace and quiet."
Sarah with Harley, Roxy and Florence poodles

Patikipa is a traditional riverside cabin on the North Bank of the River Thurne at Potter Heigham on the Norfolk Broads. The cabin sleeps two with an additional sofa bed.  It provides very basic but comfortable budget accommodation with uninterrupted views across the marshes and the ever changing river scene.

From the cabin you can walk inland along miles of marshland footpaths and you can hire a boat for the week, moor it in front of the cabin and use it to explore the Broads.  Hickling Broad, Horsey and Ludham are a short cruise away. The cabin is traditionally let out for the fishing season but the owner loves her peaceful little cabin and would love to see it enjoyed by dogs and their owners, so we have taken it on.  Potter Heigham broads village has a pub, shops and cafes and a boat hire yard within easy walking distance.

When you get here:  Access to the cabin is along a short, easy footpath but there is no road access.  If you have a lot of luggage you can get it delivered by water taxi from the boat yard in Potter Heigham.

Outside:  The property is surrounded on 3 sides by a high, solid fence which tails down as it gets to the waters' edge where there is no fence to the 42ft long open river frontage.  There is a simple grass area with seating in front to enjoy the with views across the river to the open marshes.
