The Lodge, East Ruston

"We have to say this is the best dog friendly holiday cottage that we have ever stayed in.  It really is a home from home.  We have had amazing weather for March, warm and sunny.  We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back again soon.  We thank you for the welcome basket of goodies and the beautiful flowers.".
Ruby and Sporran

"We arrived to a wonderful warm welcome.  The Lodge is beautifully appointed and tastefully decorated, very warm and comfy.  The dogs were in heaven, with lovely walks on various beaches, and their absolute favourite was Bacton Woods.  We have all fallen in love with the area and have plans to return. Many thanks".

The Lodge is a detached, single storey conversion finished to a very high standard and sleeping up to 4.
In a very quiet part of East Ruston village, it's well away from the lane but very close to great walks on the Weavers Way.
Lots of light and an enclosed garden with decking make it a great summer choice whilst modern
heating and insulation make it cosy in winter too.  It is wheelchair friendly and has
a young and flourishing vineyard next door.

When you get here: The Lodge is down a private drive with easy parking just outside the front door.  Access is up a ramp so easy for disabled or infirm guests.  The door opens into...

Open plan kitchen/dining/living area:  Very light and airy with French doors onto the decking.  There is a leather chair and matching leather sofa which can also be a very comfortable sofa bed (see notes below if you would like to make use of this).  The wall mounted flat screen tv has a DVD player and a selection of DVDs is provided.

A substantial folding table and very comfortable chairs are provided for meals and the kitchen area is stylish and beautifully designed to maximise the space.   There is a ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge and everything you could need for a self catering holiday including a good selection of cooking utensils (and if there is anything else you need John and Jo, the owners, will be only too pleased to provide it if at all possible!)  They have supplied plenty of crockery and cutlery (more than enough for four).

Just off this room is a cupboard containing the washing machine and a table top freezer (34 litres, approx half size of under counter freezer) plus iron and ironing board.

Beside this is the....

Shower Room:  Fully tiled modern wet room with a state of the art remote controlled toilet (ideal for disabilities/infirm guests), sink and shower.

Double Bedroom:  The bed is a superking zip and link so it can be good sized twin beds if you prefer.   Plenty of room and storage space in the wardrobe including drawers.  There are French doors in this room which also open out straight onto the decking.

Outside:  Large enclosed area of decking and grass. Lights all around the decking edge and patio furniture for 4 plus barbecue and washing line.
The Lodge has open countryside on one side and the owners detached house and garden on the other.  The fencing is mostly chestnut paling, approximately 4 ft.  The bottom of the fencing has been blocked with chicken fencing and planted with a hedge to prevent small dogs escaping.  The metal gate access is approx 3 ft high.

Heating:  Modern, easily controlled and efficient central heating radiators heat The Lodge and with a good level of modern insulation it will never be cold.
If it does get a bit warm you can always open the remote controlled skylight!
