Dog friendly, stylish and cosy cottage in Happisburgh

“What a cottage (so good we’ve booked again for next year!). Everything and more we could have wished for. Dogs have had a whale of a time, in fact, think we’ve walked their legs off! Love this area, it really makes for a relaxing break.

Heather Cottage is a stylish, cosy and comfortable three bedroom dog friendly Happisburgh cottage in one of the most popular villages in this area of Norfolk.  Like so many of our property owners, Heather Cottage owners have dogs of their own so they completely understand how important it is to be properly dog friendly!

  • It’s only a hop and skip from the local dog friendly pub, The Hill House,
  • A lovely, easy stroll to the dog friendly, sandy beach and plenty of easy, livestock free countryside walks.
  • The village shop sells a great range of local produce and crafts.
  • Happisburgh is home to Fair Maiden, the best fresh fish shop for miles around!  And it’s just round the corner.
  • Walk to a great little dog friendly cafe – Smallsticks – along the cliffs at Cart Gap.
  • On certain weekends you can  climb up the iconic striped lighthouse or up the church tower – with some incredible views!
  • Are you a history buff? The village is full of some beautiful old buildings and history… plus plenty of peace and quiet.
  • For children there is a great play area with a zip wire just above the beach and a big grass play area nearby.
  • Happisburgh has a wealth of fossils, flint tools and even mammoth teeth and bones.  The oldest known human footprints have been found here
  • It was the First known settlement in Northern Europe.  Read more here

For the dogs:

  • Dog throws for sofa, bowls, poo bags etc
  • Welcome pack with local goodies including home made dog biscuits
  • Crates: We would prefer that your dogs are not left alone in the property unless you are 100% confident that they will not get stressed.  If they are crate trained and you would like to use a crate, please do ask us – we can provide all sizes for free loan.  We know how bulky they are to pack!
  • Dog sitting.  If you would like to go out for a few hours and leave the dogs but are not confident they will settle, please contact sue@eastrustoncottages.co.uk for a dog sitter recommendation – Shannons Sitting Services – or Sue may be able to do it.
  • Stairgate on request
  • Fully enclosed garden
  • Great walks to the dog friendly beach from the door
  • Dog wash hose outside the front door.

For the humans:

  • All bed linen and towels
