Seaview Cottage, Bacton

Sleeps 8

“We had a wonderful week here at Seaview. It’s so nice to be able to walk to the beach and pop back for lunch.
The beds were really comfortable, the kitchen fully equipped, the dog shower was very handy
and it’s lovely having a tv in all the bedrooms. We would love to come again!”

Yards from the beach, sleeps 6 – 8, unlimited dogs welcome.
The perfect seaside holiday house!

This house has proved SO popular that we had 16 weeks booked before it was even here on the website! Could it be the sea view, the short walk to the quiet beach, the really secure garden, the unlimited dogs welcome, the style and comfort…. or just all of those things!? Throughout this house the owners’ style and love of art is obvious and there are some really nice pictures on the wall as well as lots of other homely and dog friendly touches.

It is just a few yards (on a dead end track) to the beach at Bacton.  A little further along you can walk to Walcott with its very dog friendly pub (the Poacher’s Pocket), dog friendly cafe (Kingfisher Cafe), fish and chip shop and very useful village shop.  Even closer in Bacton you have another dog friendly cafe – Sugar and Spice (one of our favourites), another fish and chip shop, Chinese takeaway, kebab/pizza house and shop.  Or you can cook all your meals in the very well equipped kitchen.

When you arrive: Parking is right outside the house – enough for 3 cars. There is further free off road parking in the area. Go in through the front door (key safe to the right) and into the hall. Turn right into the….

Living Room: Two lovely big, squidgy sofas to seat 6 and a chair.  The room is a proper cottage living room so we can’t fit any more big sofas in but there is other seating in the kitchen, garden and tvs upstairs in the bedrooms.  Wood burning stove is at the heart of the room and a wall mounted 40″ flat screen tv (with Freesat) and some lovely art works.

From here into the…

Kitchen/diner: Modern fitted kitchen, all open plan. Plenty of room, fitted oven and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle etc. Plenty of crockery and cutlery and everything you need to cook for 8. Wooden table and chairs for 6; pulls out to seat 8.

Off this is..

Laundry room: Washing machine and plenty of storage for boots, coats etc.
Downstairs toilet and shower: Well fitted, tiled throughout, shower cubicle, sink and toilet.

Bedroom 1:  Just off the kitchen this bedroom has a king size bed that is adjustable. Press the button and the head end rises up, so you can get super comfortable to read or eat or even to help you get out if you have mobility problems.  Plenty of hanging and drawer space too and views out of the front of the house across the lane and field.  40″ Tv and Freesat box in room too!

From the kitchen you can open the double doors to the…

Outside: Good sized garden, fully enclosed with a nearly 6ft high thick hedge, backed with a solid fence – really secure! You can hear the sea and the gulls from the garden, just a field between you and the sea.  There is a garden room with sofas in for sitting and enjoying the sun or an evening barbecue (provided) and a dog poo loo (yes really – it flushes and everything!) to save using plastic bags AND a warm dog shower too.

Back into the house and through the living room to go up the stairs (straight and not too steep, with hand rail) to the…

Upstairs loo: Rather  decorative black and cream loo and sink with a view.  You can see the sea when you wee!

Bedroom 2:  Double bed with plenty of hanging and storage space with some beautiful pictures decorating the walls. Tv and freesat box in room too!

Bedroom 3: Double bed with plenty of hanging and storage space and of course some lovely pieces of art and a tv and Freesat box.

Ensuite Bedroom 4:  Kingsize bed with an enormous feature vintage wooden headboard, lovely new comfy mattress and bed linen and a tv too. The bathroom has been added with a shower, another loo with a view (!) and a whirlpool bath.  Lie in this, enjoy the bubbles and the sea view too. There are double doors opening out onto the glassed balcony (flush to the wall) looking over the garden so you can enjoy the fresh air and sound of the sea while you ablute! 40″ tv with Freesat box too.

Please note:
Sleeps 8 but seating in living room comfortable for 6. Dining seating for 8.

No smoking in the house please.

The house is semi-detached – please do respect the neighbours’ peace and quiet and not allow dogs to bark too much in the garden or children to make excessive noise in the house. IF you would like to leave your dogs unattended in the house, and you are not confident they will be settled, please contact us and we can dog sit (for free and a cuppa tea!)

The lane access to the cottage is a single track, residential lane – please travel along it slowly for the safety of all users.

Location & Directions

How To Find Us:

Watchhouse Lane Bacton Norfolk NR12 0HL

Drive through Bacton or Walcott on the B1159, depending on which way you are coming, and opposite the lane leading to Bromholme Priory (private) there is a small road between the houses. This is Watchouse Lane. Drive a couple of hundred yards along this, towards the sea and on your left will be two semi detached houses. The furthest is Sea View Cottage. To leave the cottage it is safest to come out of the alternative entrance, so leave the cottage and instead of turning towards the Priory road, keep going and come out on the small layby by some historic houses. This is only a very short distance from the other entrance but easier and safer to come out of.

“Our first time at Hidden Gem but not East Ruston Cottages.   The cottage is absolutely wonderful and has a very homely feel.  We have had a really relaxing holiday in a stunning location and Hidden Gem is like a home from home.  The beach and dunes are beautiful and the garden has been perfect for our two hounds!  A very dog friendly holiday cottage. All the extra little touches and the welcome gifts have been much appreciated!  We will definitely be back!! "
