We first fell in love with Norfolk almost a decade ago. I’m originally from Mexico, my husband is from Spain, and we’ve made the UK our home since 2012. Life here is happily shared with our two rescue dogs; Shep, a gentle Greek Spaniel with a noble heart, and Bob, a tiny Chinese poodle who is quite convinced he was once an Emperor.
We’re happiest wandering along woodland trails or strolling beside the sea, then tucking into a good meal or exploring a bit of history. Norfolk’s glorious coastline, charming villages and wealth of culture tick every one of our boxes.
Sunny Cottage is our little dream come true, a beautiful 19th-century retreat with two cosy bedrooms and a sun-drenched, south-facing garden. We hope you’ll feel every bit as at home here as we do, and that it gives you the same joy it brings us.

About the property

All about the inside:

Enter the front door into the

Utility area
This handy and welcoming space has lots of storage for you and your doggy essentials. There is a washer/dryer.

Open plan kitchen/dining area
A bright and airy space to enjoy cooking and eating. The well equipped kitchen has a beautiful electric AGA cooker, dishwasher, under counter fridge, Nespresso coffee machine and filtered tap water. There is also a combo microwave, kettle and toaster. The dining table has seating for four. There is access to the back garden through the back door and space for hanging coats and leads and storing shoes and boots.

Living room
The cosy living room has comfortable seating from a sofa and armchair surrounding the gorgeous inglenook fireplace with wood burner. There is a wall mounted Smart TV and views over the garden. The sofa can be made up as a sofa bed to sleep an additional guest.

Downstairs bathroom
A fabulous brand new bathroom with roll top bath with shower over, WC and basin.

Through the lounge to the carpeted stairs, as with many of our traditional cottages, these are quite steep.

Bedroom 1
Kingsize bedroom with fabulous view over the garden and fields beyond. There is a wardrobe and drawers for storage.

Bedroom 2 and ensuite shower room
Across the hall to Bedroom 2 which has two 3′ single beds (which can be made up as a super king double on request). A fabulous modern ensuite shower room has a walk in shower, WC and basin.

The owners have ensured a high level of comfort whilst upgrading the property which includes Tempur mattresses, 100% Egyptian cottage towels and French linen bedding.

All about the outside:

Garden
The beautiful south facing cottage garden is fully enclosed. There is a patio area with dining table and four chairs. Up a couple of steps to the lawn where there is further seating. The summer house is a fantastic spot for that morning workout or yoga session, with bike, free weights and mats.

Parking
Guests can park for free at the village hall which is 2 minutes walk away from the property, through the village.  You can drive up to the alleyway end, to access the property and park on the road to unload, but cars cannot be left here for more than 5-10 minutes.  Don’t let this put you off though, the peace and quiet of the cottage and the area generally, is well worth this little bit of effort.

Will this property suit my dogs?

Do you dogs enjoy a mooch around the garden? Walks from the door? Then yes! The garden is fully enclosed. Wildlife can be seen in the fields if they really want to snout through the hedge at the bottom of the garden (they can’t get through it as it has a mesh barrier) but otherwise nothing can be seen.  As it’s a semi detached property and next door have dogs we would not recommend this property for reactive dogs ideally.   They can be heard but not see – that might help you make a decision if you have a reactive dog.
