Hello! I’m Helen and welcome to The Crib.

I used to make (sewing) dog collars for a dog rescue which were sold to raise money for the rescue; When I was a student I used to do the security when bands came to play at the Polytechnic. This included for Nirvana; I visited Russia with School when I was about 17 years old.
I had a long held dream to set up a holiday cottage that would welcome unlimited dogs. At that time very few places took more than two dogs and we had three. Then ERC began to grow in popularity. I wanted to holiday in Norfolk for a change from Northumberland and The Lake District so we went to The Piggery. After that I looked for properties in Norfolk & contacted Sue about joining ERC. We wanted an agent to help us run things. So 10 years after the dream started, we found The Crib.

Back Garden
This is fully enclosed with high, solid fencing (5-6ft with planting one or both sides) and plenty of grass. No gaps for small dogs to get through! Approx 165ft long.  Tap and hose outside for washing dogs.

Access from the front door into the small, enclosed streetside front garden.  Easy access to the high street and Beach Road.  You can park on the road outside here if needed.

Will this property suit my dogs?

Yes!¬† ¬†The garden is big and very secure.¬† It’s possible you may hear noise from the adjoining gardens so do bear this in mind if your dog is reactive but there will be no chance of escape and lots of chances of running and sniffing! Nothing can be seen from within the garden. If your dogs love the beach, this is the house for them!

Please note:

  • The Crib is a non smoking property.
  • Electric car, bike or scooter/wheelchair charging is¬†NOT¬†available at this property.
  • Bookings are Friday to Friday
  • First basket of wood supplied for the fireplace
  • All major supermarkets deliver to The Crib.¬† Please make sure you are here to receive delivery.
  • If you would like your dogs to join you on the beds, we ask that you provide your own sheets.
  • We would prefer that your dogs are not left alone in the property unless you are 100% confident that they will not get stressed.¬† If they are crate trained and you would like to use a crate, please do ask us. We know how bulky they are to pack!

Accessibility

Given the age and layout of the property, The Crib is not suitable for wheelchair users and may not be suitable for some other limited ability conditions. Please do feel free to ask us for more information to help you make a decision.  George at hello@eastrustoncottages.co.uk will be able to help you.

What a lovely clean and well equipped cottage .  We have been to Happisburgh several times but The Crib is one of the best cottages we have stayed in.  Bed very comfortable and has pretty ornaments throughout.   Lovely long garden Рwill be great to sit out in the warmer weather.  The Crib gave us a lovely relaxing break in a truly dog friendly cottage Рappreciated the dog first aid items.  This is the only place that has supplied so much for dogs Рleads, coats, beds, towels.  Thank you so much.

A wonderful break, far better than we imagined.  A lovely place to stay, everything very convenient for a gent with a walking aid and a lady who has had a stroke.  Pub very obliging and very nice.  We went to our favourite walk at Felbrigg twice and plenty others besides. We will be back soon.  Thank you to your housekeeper for everything so beautifully clean.

We have had an absolutely fantastic break, that was much needed.¬† The cottage is beautiful and made us feel relaxed and content from the moment we stepped through the boot room.¬† No detail has been overlooked and we couldn’t have asked for more.¬† Arthur (our Sprocker puppy) also had a fabulous time and we love hearing his big paws pad about on the wooden floor and watching sleep by the real fire.¬† I particularly loved all of the detail in the decoration of the cottage and the extra touches.¬† Can’t wait to come back!
Kelly, Mark and Arthur
