Bags of character and doggy details in seaside Happisburgh.

“The cottage is much larger than we imagined, the photos really don’t do it justice, and so well equipped with everything you could need, particularly for our beloved 4 legged friends.  The village pub was great with really friendly locals.  Lots of lovely, bracing walks along the cliffs and beach.  We’ll definitely come again!”

The Crib is tucked away in the historic coastal Norfolk village of Happisburgh.  Walking to the nearby dog friendly beach is easy from the door and you walk to the village pub, shop, historic church and the iconic red and white striped lighthouse.  Throughout the house the owners have indulged their true love of dogs and there are many beautiful examples of dog art and tasteful decorations, making the house feel really homely.

Will this property suit my dogs?

Yes!   The garden is big and very secure.  It’s possible you may hear noise from the adjoining gardens so do bear this in mind if your dog is reactive but there will be no chance of escape and lots of chances of running and sniffing! Nothing can be seen from within the garden. If your dogs love the beach, this is the house for them!

  • All major supermarkets deliver to The Crib.  Please make sure you are here to receive delivery.
  • If you would like your dogs to join you on the beds, we ask that you provide your own sheets.
  • We would prefer that your dogs are not left alone in the property unless you are 100% confident that they will not get stressed.  If they are crate trained and you would like to use a crate, please do ask us. We know how bulky they are to pack!

Our 4th time to this area and our 1st staying in Happisburgh itself and we have had another fantastic week.  Nice to catch up with our friends Jo-Jo and Andrew at Burgers at the Beach and other favourite places as well as making new friends in the pub – the dogs were made especially welcome!  The Crib is a fantastic holiday home – well fitted out and equipped and the most dog friendly place we have ever stayed from the treats and the towels to the beds and throws.  Thanks for a wonderful time, we hope to return one day!

We have all had a lovely couple of weeks here – wonderful, homely, spacious cottage – garden looked gorgeous packed with spring flowers and great for the dogs – secure even for the escape artist of the pack!  Beautiful, homely touches in each room – love the art work – we all felt very at home.

Lots of great walks from the door – coast and country – we loved it here and will definitely be back – one of the best cottages stayed in with all the dogs throws and bits and bobs provided.  Kitchen one of the best equipped.  Thanks for a great holiday and the fab welcome pack!  Recommend Fair Maiden up the road for fresh fish and Hill House Inn, Smallsticks Cafe at Cart Gap, Burgers on the Beach on Beach Road and Sugar and Spice in Bacton – all v dog friendly and worth a visit.

This is our second time at The Crib and it’s just as good as the first time we came.  The Crib for us is very much a home from home, very calm and peaceful and a great place to relax .  We stayed here for 5 nights (the superking bed is AMAZING!!)  Would would most definitely come back.

What a lovely clean and well equipped cottage .  We have been to Happisburgh several times but The Crib is one of the best cottages we have stayed in.  Bed very comfortable and has pretty ornaments throughout.   Lovely long garden – will be great to sit out in the warmer weather.  The Crib gave us a lovely relaxing break in a truly dog friendly cottage – appreciated the dog first aid items.  This is the only place that has supplied so much for dogs – leads, coats, beds, towels.  Thank you so much.

The cottage is much larger than we imagined, the photos really don’t do it justice, and so well equipped with everything you could need, particularly for our beloved 4 legged friends.  The village pub was great with really friendly locals.  Lots of lovely, bracing walks along the cliffs and beach.  We’ll definitely come again!

A wonderful break, far better than we imagined.  A lovely place to stay, everything very convenient for a gent with a walking aid and a lady who has had a stroke.  Pub very obliging and very nice.  We went to our favourite walk at Felbrigg twice and plenty others besides. We will be back soon.  Thank you to your housekeeper for everything so beautifully clean.
Thelma

We have had an absolutely fantastic break, that was much needed.  The cottage is beautiful and made us feel relaxed and content from the moment we stepped through the boot room.  No detail has been overlooked and we couldn’t have asked for more.  Arthur (our Sprocker puppy) also had a fabulous time and we love hearing his big paws pad about on the wooden floor and watching sleep by the real fire.  I particularly loved all of the detail in the decoration of the cottage and the extra touches.  Can’t wait to come back!
Kelly, Mark and Arthur

We had a lovely, relaxing stay over New Year.  We visited the Hill House Inn twice – once for a pub meal and second for the New Year PJ party – we felt welcome and our 2 dogs had lots of treats.  We walked on the beach every day.  Happisburgh, Sea Palling, Waxham and Cart Gap are all very dog friendly.  We also had a home cooked meal – the kitchen is well equipped.   Very enjoyable stay in a lovely ‘home from home’ house.

Our second visit to The Crib with Milo and Meggie (rescue greyhounds). Birthday and anniversary celebrations, lots of lovely walks and also so relaxing for us humans. Perfect weather for us, homely and comfortable. Looking forward to next year. Thank you for our welcome hamper, we really appreciated it and enjoyed it.
