THE RISBYS

FROM LEFT TO RIGHT – ANDY, ELOISE, LAUREN, JAMES, CHRIS, SANDRA & ARNA

Once we started staying with East Ruston Cottages, we were hooked and instantly knew that this was “our” part of the world. After quite a few years of Sandra and Andy holidaying here with Lauren their daughter and her family tagging along, we stumbled across this property and it all just clicked. The main Farmhouse was big enough for our 3 generations, a big field for the dogs to run and the holiday cottages, all the boxes were ticked. So we all sold our houses in Sidcup, Kent and jumped at the move and we haven’t looked back. We love living here every day, it is like a dream come true! Sea Palling and Happisburgh beaches are our favorites, along with The Star Inn or as a special treat, The Gunton Arms for food. We hope whatever cottage you choose, you enjoy the area as much as us!

“We had a lovely week staying in The Forge. It had everything we needed and was well equipped for our stay inc goodies for us & our two beagle’s. With an enclosed garden which was lovely and modern and plenty room for us humans too. With lots of lovely walks on our doorstep (Bacton Beach & Woods, Sea Palling, Walcott, Cart Gap & Happisburgh) Great value as well could not find fault, it was handy to have our food shop delivered as we tend to cook . Kitchen had everything we needed. Bonus side there is a private paddock for our beagle’s to run around or play with toys available and shower if they get muddy.”
“Just spent an amazing week with our dog, we stayed in the The Forge. Everything has been thought of, including a doggy hamper with a foot balm for after days on the beach. We will definitely be back. Norfolk is brilliant, it is such a dog-friendly county. My dog was living her best life.”
The best dog friendly cottage, We stayed in The Forge and can honestly say it is the best cottage we have ever stayed in. Very clean, comfortable, exceptionally well equipped, a bed that you don’t want to leave, a delicious welcome pack and truly dog friendly. We are definitely returning !”
“This must have been one of the best self catering experiences that myself and my wife have ever stayed at . The booking was so simple and fantastic communication from the owner right from the start. We have always found it hard to find perfect venues to take our dog to stay but not anymore we will be booking again and definitely for longer. The paddock was amazing the dog found this to be excellent running around freely and enjoying the toys provided the doggie showers a bonus. When we arrived to the superbly equipped cottage we was hit with wow factors from the start we had a lovely surprise of a welcome hamper with fresh milk and orange and bread such a lovely surprise for us and the best surprise was the doggie hamper which my pup loved all the toys and treats provided was fantastic please judge for yourself you won’t be disappointed as this is an absolute gem of a cottage so book fast as always books quickly. Enjoy as I’m booking again soon”

We and our two ‘escape artist’ miniature dachshunds have enjoyed a lovely week in The Forge. So well equipped, with luxurious bedding and fluffy towels, altogether a wonderful place for a couple to stay and unwind. Lots of unexpected extras too – even for the dogs. Both the garden and dog field were totally secure – and this is not usual in holiday rentals as we have previously found out elsewhere! Peace of mind does not have a price. The owners have done a fabulous job all round, absolutely first class. Looking forward to a return visit next year.”
