So we all know that The Walnut is super popular with new and returning guests, just take a look at our availability calendar for proof! But we thought we would jot down a few points for you to really get a feel for this great property. Being a barn conversion, not only is this place full of character but also has great benefits of a hot tub, being close to the coast AND welcomes four dogs – free of charge of course!
Take a minute to read a little bit about how The Walnut came about and its history from the owners… “The Walnut was converted from a garage in 2018 – the views were far too good to be wasted on a garage! Having sampled and survived some ‘dog-friendly’ cottages on our own holidays, we wanted to make The Walnut somewhere we would like to stay ourselves, with our dogs, but we wanted to provide a bit of luxury too. So we included a hot tub, bath robes, really comfy beds, Egyptian cotton sheets and towels, a luxury hamper etc and we’re always thinking about what else we could provide to make the stay even more enjoyable. We are also very lucky to have the most fantastic cleaner, Tina, who works nothing short of Merlin-style cleaning magic every week; the extremely impressive 5/5 for cleanliness on every single (bar one!) UpFront Reviews says it all. We’re very proud of The Walnut and hope there might be some baby nuts in the future – watch this space!!”
Well, I’m sure I have your attention by now, so let me tell you a little bit more. I mentioned above that The Walnut is close to the beach. The closest is Cart Gap or Happisburgh Beach, but there are many surrounding these. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful stretch of white sandy beaches in both directions, so really you can take your pick! The Walnut is exactly 2 miles so easily walkable or a VERY short drive!
Next most important thing on the list – dog friendly pub! Again, there are many great eateries to choose from round here, but our favourite (and closest) is The Star Inn at Lessingham. The Star is great for home cooked food, open fire and real ales. What more could you wish for?!
What else is nearby? Well, we are the middle of nowhere to some but the centre of the universe to others. Most people love the peace, the quiet, the total silence at night (apart from the owls hooting, foxes barking and deer bellowing at the moment!) The views and the vast expanse of Norfolk skies and stars BUT the beaches, Broads, boats etc aren’t far away either. So you could come to The Walnut and sample all the above!
